Today I drew a customer appreciation day for Fox Chase Bank in Philadelphia. It was a perfect day to be outside. I was in a silly mood and I thought some of the drawings turned out pretty funny. Enjoy!

media festival 10-7-07

This weekend I set up my trusty red tent in Media, PA, (my future home as of next week). I did a lot of drawings and got to meet a lot of great people. No doubt I will be setting up there again the next time around.

tiger woods gameface

I thought this fell somewhere in the realm of caricature. In Tiger Woods 2008 for Xbox 360 you can upload an actual photo of yourself to their server online. This then connects to Xbox live, then you set a couple of guideline points on your face. I uploaded a front and side view (not shown). The game then generates an image of you which you can use in the game. It took a while, but the end result came out really great. A bald video game version of me which you then have to manually pick your hair and outfit. It really depends what angle the golfer is shown, sometimes it is a dead on look-a-like, and sometimes not. Pretty cool.

Found this guy on the National Caricature Network Forum "Firing Squad" and thought I take a shot at drawing him. On that site you can post your picture and caricature artists all over the world can draw you. Not a bad way to collect some pretty sweet drawings of yourself. I still have yet to post pics of myself on there, but mayhaps tonite is the nite.

Anyway, I drew my dad playing Xbox 360 with some of my new markers. Still trying ot get the hang of them. This drawing is silly.

its muh birfday

So today I turn 24 years old! I got a new set of Prismacolor markers today and I am excited to try them out in some of my sketches. I will try and post some when I get good ones. I am also waiting the arrival of a new french easel for my live work. Looks like next weekend I will drawing for a night at the Phillies game. I met with Bruce Blitz to talk about his operation he runs there. Its going to be a great opportunity mixing my favorite sports team with my favorite hobby. If I would have thought when I was little that I would be 24 years old and drawing funny cartoons at a Phillies game, I probably would have jumped up and down for a few hours smiling. I used to watch the Blitz tv show as a kid, so it is really awesome to work with him now.

I have been trying to make some new friends via Blogspot. So if you are anyone reading this that I don't know, please send a comment or email. There are some amazing caricature artists out there, and I know we all have a lot to learn from one another. If you have not seen the Joe Bluhm Digital Podcasts, you are missing out. I am still trying to learn the art of digital painting and I don't think there is anything better than this to teach and inspire the art.

Here is a drawing I did this weekend of a married couple who hired me to draw at their reception. They were great people and they had a great dog (a pug in a tutu). Come to think of it now I am really dissapointed that I didn't draw the tutu.

met pat harrington at the northampton days fair this weekend. we set up together to draw and try and make some money. for some reason no one told us that there would be two caricature artists working that day. i did this drawing of him which i was pretty happy with.

About two weeks ago I got to meet caricature artist extraordinare Joe Bluhm at Six Flags, NJ. I wanted to post this drawing he did of me cause it's amazing.

I've got alot of gigs lined up for this month. This Sunday I will be drawing at the Northampton Days Fair in my awesome red caricature tent.

I have been working on some digital caricatures. I am catching on, but there is alot to learn. I will post some pics soon of my progress and hopefully get some feedback.
